Most Estero residents won’t be paying more for fire protection in 2011, but they might be in 2012.
Estero Fire Board commissioners Thursday unanimously approved an $11.13 million operating budget for 2011 and set a tax rate of $2 for every $1,000 of property value. That means a resident with a home valued at $200,000 after homestead will pay about $400 for fire protection next year.
