Lee County commissioners told Bonita Fire Rescue officials at a planning meeting Monday that they should prepare for a partnership with Lee County EMS because the cost to run Bonita’s own ambulance service would be too high.
Unhappy Bonita officials, however, blasted what they said was an “apples to oranges” numbers comparison and the county public safety director’s claim that taking over ambulance service will improve response times in the city.
