Employee Pay Raises At Florida Gulf Coast University and Edison State College

Despite another tight budget year, Florida Gulf Coast University and Edison State College won’t be laying off or furloughing staff. In fact, employees at both public institutions are receiving pay raises.

FGCU is issuing $1,000 bonuses to all faculty and staff on Oct. 1, and employees’ 2 percent pay raises kick in Jan. 1.

Edison’s pay bumps are a little more complicated:

– Staff: 4 percent pay raise, effective July 1.
– Existing faculty: 4 percent or $2,151 pay raise, whichever is greater, effective Aug. 16.
– New faculty: 3 percent pay raise to minimum salary based on academic degrees, effective Aug. 16.

– Adjunct faculty: 4 percent pay raise, effective Jan. 1, 2011.
